Do you want shapelier buttocks? When it comes to buttocks enhancement, you can choose between implants or Brazilian butt lift. Implants can provide a good result, but there is an added risk of infection or capsular contraction. Since Brazilian butt lift uses your own body fat for augmentation, potential adverse reactions are greatly reduced. Brazilian butt lift also looks and feels more natural. Dr. Scott Green, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Sacramento, explains how Brazilian butt lift works.
Brazilian Butt Lift
Brazilian butt lift is a straightforward procedure. Excess fat is removed from one part of the body and injected into the buttocks to achieve a more attractive, full rear end.
Candidates for Brazilian butt lift must have adequate fat in other areas of the body for harvesting. If you are very thin, you may not have sufficient fat for Brazilian butt lift. In that case, implants are your best option.
Despite the name, Brazilian butt lift is not a true lift. It does not involve elevating the buttocks to eliminate sagging or remove excess skin. For that, you’ll need traditional butt lift.
Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
Liposuction is the first step in the Brazilian butt lift process. The patient receives general anesthesia or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation, and the surgeon removes unwanted fat. The area chosen for fat removal depends on the excess fat available and the patient’s wishes. For instance, some patients may want abdominal fat removed, while others may want fat retrieved from the hips or thighs. This is an opportunity to contour parts of the body containing stubborn fat pockets.
Fat is removed via the insertion of a small tube, or cannula, attached to a suction device. After removal, the fat is purified and processed for injection. The surgeon then injects the fat into the carefully delineated parts of the buttocks to boost volume and enhance shape.
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis, so you’ll go home the same day.
Recovery
Keep in mind that after Brazilian butt lift, you aren’t able to sit down directly on your buttocks for a few weeks. That means sleeping on your side or sitting on a pillow. Expect to stay home from work for about 10 days.
The entire recovery process takes about six to eight weeks. After that, you can resume rigorous exercise.
Brazilian Butt Lift Results
After recovery, your buttocks appear larger and symmetrical. The effects should last for a decade or more as long as your weight remains consistent.
